Do you want to unwind physically and mentally and create a space for your mind to ponder? Julie combines the physical practice of Yin Yoga with contemplation. Yin Yoga is a slow-meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues of the body and the fascia. Physically, Yin Yoga can increase one's flexibilty and energetic flow. Because Yin Yoga is a slow practice with longer moments of stillness and silence, a Yin Yoga practice can work on a deeper level giving the practitioner opportunites to practice surrender, observation, and mindful response. In this class, Julie prepares you to physically let go of tension and how to observe your thoughts with less judgement and criticism. Be prepared for some inner work.
Julie also uses various books to aid in the contempletive aspect of the class. Julie is currently using the book, "The Sacred Art of Lovingkindness: Preparing to Practice", by Rabbi Rami Shapiro . It is not required reading, although it is highly recommended.
All levels are welcome.
