Yin Yoga meets Lovingkindness, a 4-week series
"The question at the heart of this book is this: Will you engage this moment with kindness or with cruelty, with love or with fear, with generosity or scarcity, with a joyous heart or an embittered one? This is your choice and no one can make it for you…. Heaven and hell are both inside of you. It is your choice that determines just where you reside.”
—from the Introduction of "The Sacred Art of Lovingkindness: preparing to practice"
In this 4-week series, Julie will combine the physical practice of Yin Yoga (a slow-meditaive style of yoga that encourages surrender, release, observation, and mindful response) with the contemplative practice of Lovingkindness. You will not only learn how to physically let go of tension and how to observe your thoughts with less judgement and criticism, but you will leave each class with specific and practical ways to practice Lovingkindness in your own life. Be prepared for some inner work.
The book, "The Sacred Art of Lovingkindness: Preparing to Practice", by Rabbi Rami Shapiro is not required reading, although it is highly recommended.
All levels are welcome.
